  Had the best four days relaxing here. The staff are fantastic, will greet you at the airport and safely drop you back, easily organise all your tours and activities, and make you feel at home while there. Very peaceful place and the most beautiful gardens and snorkeling off the front pier. Highly recommend both Tanna Island & White Grass Ocean Resort as your base if you’re seeking an off piste island break. If you’re having issues booking with Air Vanuatu, the reception at the resort are happy to assist you also. Wish I’d stayed longer!

  It's a paradise. The views over the sea are awesome, you can have breakfast/ lunch/ dinner/ drinks looking at the sea. There's an in-house diving centre, how convenient is that??? And there's also access to 2 blue holes where you can do snorkeling, with so much coral 🪸 The food is also amazing. The offer is limited, might also be viewed as pricey (no option to go anywhere else either), but at least the quality is really good. Note that some dishes have different price depending on whether you order them for lunch or for dinner. Basic breakfast is included in the price.

  Lovely place and a very welcome reprieve from the treehouse I'd been in before arriving. Price point is pretty high, I expected a bit more luxury for what I paid. Big comfy bed, adequatr facilities in room and gorgeous views to the water. Best part of staying here was access to the reef off the jetty and ability to walk to the blue holes which are gorgeous for snorkeling. Food is on the pricier side, especially the dinner but quality was really good. Complimentary breakfast is great, good variety and well stocked. Coffee machine was broken when I was there but we had plunger Tanna coffee which was good enough. Bathrooms could use a little spruce up and deep clean but overall everything was great.

  This is a wonderful resort on a paradise of an island. The staff running and working at the resort are amazing! Nothing is too hard and if you have a request they will do their best to accomodate. The tours on offer showcase the islands beauty, culture and natural wonders, and the tour guides are wonderful and proud to show off their island home. As a family of four we loved our stay- the pool, snorkelling the amazing reefs and enjoying the hospitality of the resort and the people, the volcano was a highlight. We will be back and highly recommend White Grass Ocean Resort.

  First the positives - Great included transfers from the airport that were on time and easy. Quick drive to the resort from the airport. Despite being so close to the airport, you never hear planes or feel like you’re staying near an airport. Great service - drink on arrival, clear explanations despite lots of visitors arriving at the same time. Pleasant entry area with good quality wifi - note no wifi in the rooms and the wifi is turned off at night (power saving I presume). Staff very friendly. They have several organised tours including going to local villages, blue cave, visiting the island as a whole, and of course the volcano visit. Most tours were 8000-10000, with volcano at 20000 and comprehensive tour at 30000 vatu. The volcano tour (only one we did) was well worth it - an incredible experience that was unparalleled. However, this experience is very weather dependent and we saw multiple people who had done the tour in rainy conditions with subpar experience and significant disappointment because you can only see steam and no lava when it’s raining. We got lucky - it was not raining and the experience was awe inspiring. We also had massages whilst we were there - which were good, it was beautiful hearing the waves during it. Note you can only book once at the resort, not in advance, and there’s only one able to happen at once. Booking it in was easy at reception. Close proximity to Blue Holes with free snorkelling gear from the resort which was good quality. Walk down to blue holes was overgrown but doable and safe. Entry for blue holes are 500 vatu per person to local community which felt fair (kids free). The criticisms - The bed in the room was very uncomfortable, the mattress was soft and sagging and there was a fan only with no air conditioning, and limited air movement. All up, we didn’t sleep well whilst there. The common area in the family villa was uninviting and not a pleasant place to hang out which was a shame as the reception wasn’t a pleasant place to hang out either so shaded options to relax were few and far between. The bathrooms in the rooms were lovely with a big shower and provided soap, shampoo and conditioner. When we were given an itemised bill, we found it to be incorrect and overcharging us by about AUD $100. We called this out after checking the numbers ourselves (an extra lunch was charged and numbers were incorrect for the tour cost total) and it was adjusted but no significant apology was made or any reparation offered. This was incredibly disappointing.
