The market is just opening up again after the devastating earthquake ☹️, so not all the stalls were open, some are still located elsewhere, but the stalls that are there have amazing quality! All the women and their weaving, necklaces and wooden goods are legitimate Vanuatu made treasures 😍 No cheap crap here, beautiful stuff only, and they are all so kind with a smile and grateful for sales. They even gave my little girl a bracelet and purse which she absolutely loved 🐚🥰 There is also a cafe at the end too, great for a snack when deciding what to buy 🇻🇺

Market in Vanuatu “Authentic Local Experience with Beautiful Crafts” The Handicraft Market in Vanuatu is a must-visit if you’re looking for unique souvenirs and a glimpse into local culture. The stalls are filled with beautifully handmade items such as woven bags, wooden carvings, jewelry, and vibrant fabrics. Everything is crafted with care, and many sellers are happy to share the stories behind their work. The market is set up in a lively, welcoming atmosphere, and you can interact directly with the artisans. Prices are reasonable, but don’t hesitate to negotiate respectfully. It’s also a great place to support the local community and take home something truly special. While it can get busy at times, the friendly vibe and variety of items make it well worth a visit. Highly recommend stopping by to experience the heart of Vanuatu’s craft traditions!

If you genuinely want to get your hands on some legitimate souvenirs that are made in Vanuatu by local people with local materials, this is one place you need to go. The level of skill and workmanship is evident in the finished products, and the artists are very warm and engaging, taking the time to explain the meaning of different weaving patterns, use of natural dyes, and materials to produce what are not only works of art, but practical, long lasting products that will bring you many years of use. For an ethical buy that injects money directly into the local ecconomy and goes towards feeding families, you can't go past this place.

Some fantastic quality products - expect to pay for the quality of handcrafted work you’re getting. Not a cheap tourist gimmick, but very much a space for local artisans. There is room to negotiate on price - but be fair. Had no problem bringing items back to Australia.

Beautiful market with many handcrafted jewellery, bags, purses and accessories, handpainted fabrics, wood and lava stone hand carved sculptures. Many styles and colours to choose from. Nicest sellers and makers with a great atmosphere. Be advised that some articles are made with natural feathers and won't be accepted in Australia and New Zealand.
