::This is an amazing place for a friendly, welcoming and authentic Tanna experience. We stayed for 3 nights and Robert and his family who took care of everything for us including food (which was amazing), transport and just general good times. It’s different to usual accomodation in that you are really welcomed into the family, who joined us on our trips to the waterfall and hot springs, and walked with us to the volcano (about 1 hour walk from the treehouse). this definitely added to the fun and experience for us. It’s definitely a walk I’d recommend as it gives a great perspective to the mountain and great photo ops. We were also lucky to be invited along to a neighbouring village celebration of the new year where we got to see the actual local dances (not just put on for tourists) and partake in the ceremonies and local food. This isn’t a tourist thing so I think we were just lucky to be there at new year. The accomodation is fairly basic (standard for treehouses/bungalows on Tanna) with cold shower and a separate toilet. The personal touches set it apart though with fresh flowers every day. They really go the extra mile. Tips: - this side of Tanna is quite a bit cooler than Port Vila or even Lenakel so pack a jumper if visiting outside of summer - if afraid of heights or have mobility issues ask for the lower treehouse (no view but no swaying in the wind either) - there’s no ATM near so bring some cash for transport and the volcano tour: trip to or from the airport is 5000vt (10,000 round trip), entry to volcano tour is 9750vt p/p, travel to hot springs and waterfall was 2500vt (worth it)
