::Pandanas Kava Nakamal apparently has one of the best kava in Vanuatu. A long lost friend who I met after 12 years took me there so that I can have my first ever Vanuatu Kava experience. And that was totally worth it. This Kava bar is located not very far from the Airport and maybe 10-15 mins drive from the Port Vila City. As is the name, a pandanus tree sits on the entrance giving a glimpse of good vibe and cool atmosphere. As a first timer, I was warned by my colleagues not to have more than 3 shells of kava. I only had 2 and only I know how I got back to my hotel room after that. My knees were getting locked, world was spinning and I almost promised myself not to have Vanuatu Kava again! We all do that with liquor, right? The bar has small food stalls right then and there where you can grab fresh skewers, fruits and other âchaisesâ. There are rules around how you consume Vanuatu Kava and I tell you what- do not EVER underestimate Vanuatu Kava! Old habits die hard- I will definitely be back for 2 more shells of Vanuatu Kava!

::A place to drink Cava. It is a beverage made by cleaning and grinding the roots of a plant in the pepper family. It is a bitter, slightly bitter, and earthy drink. After two sips, your mouth and throat will feel numb and you will lose your senses. If you drink a lot, it feels like your whole body is anesthetized. Anyway, people here drink two or three glasses at a time, and buy it in large plastic bottles (1.5L). I couldn't drink any more because my stomach was upset. An interesting experience!
