::Filthy kitchen. Only one burner working on the stove. Filthy, unwashed dishes and pots and pans. Small fridge, which was also dirty. Mosquitos everywhere because the window screens were broken or missing. In-house attendant/family who was seldom available.

::Super Great place to stay...highly recommended. Great atmosphere, good location, nice rooms, clean, very pleasant and helpful staff who offer excellent customer service when needed, quiet at night, Multiple bathrooms, community kitchen area to utilize. 15 min walk to grocery store, 20 min walk to cheifs Namakal, 25 min walk to local fruit and vegetable market, 30 min walk to downtown. Best rates in Port Vila. I'll be back in Vanuatu in July and will definitely stay here again, and if you are looking for a place to stay in Port Vila you should stay here too!

::We spent one week in total at Paray Lodge (we used Port Vila as a base for island-hopping). We were very happy with everything. We arrived late in the evening, and Josephine opened the gate for us, checked us in, and showed us where the facilities are. We'd originally booked a campsite and brought along our tent. The next morning, Leah very kindly offered us a room at the same nightly rate as camping, as it was low season. We gratefully took her up on her offer, as the tent was quite warm. While we were away, we were able to leave a duffle bag at the lodge for VT400 per night, which was kept in a locked cupboard in a locked room. The lodge is in a good location, within walking distance of the supermarket, Vanuatu Cultural Centre and downtown. We felt safe in the area. We parked our rental car just inside the gate overnight, and that was fine. The car was still there and in one piece the next morning. The lodge is kept clean and neat, with nice little details like fresh flowers in your room. It's a comfortable place for backpackers of all ages. We spent many fun nights in the kitchen house, making new friends with the other guests. The staff are friendly and helpful. We'd be happy to stay at Paray Lodge again in the future!

::Off the main road in a quiet and secluded location, Paray Lodge is an easy walk to restaurants and shops in Vila. The staff were very friendly and kept the whole place sparkling clean and tidy. Fresh tropical flowers on the clean linen each day gave the feel of a classy resort but the large kitchen and nearby supermarket meant that self-catering was always an option.
