  Robert and Lina are wonderful guests. Everything went smoothly, the view from the treehouse is fantastic, the volcano incredible. Robert is well connected and can help you arrange anything around Tanna, and Lina’s food is great and most of all plentiful! The guesthouse also has a little shop for emergencies and is located right at the entrance to the volcano. Very convenient and safe!

  An amazing experience staying with Robert and Lina. You could not be closer to the entrance of the volcano and hearing it rumble at night is an unforgettable experience. The treehouse is basic but very comfortable and the meals your hosts cook for you are delicious and huge helpings. Robert makes things very easy, picking you up from the airport and explaining all the activities with great detail, we would have needed a far longer stay to do them all! We climbed the volcano (recommend walking up yourself for amazing views and changing landscape) and then across the Ash Plain to the Sulphur Bay hot Springs which were both amazing experiences, especially the volcano (closest you can to an active volcano in the world). Robert and Lina have great advice and directions on all these and more to do. Can't wait to come back

  Beware cockroaches in the simple rooms, and open windows/ no locks (or handles from the inside) Bucket showers and janky toilets, hand washing carefully with a bucket and alternating hands (and annoying *ss roosters early in the AM). Food was good, though by the last morning - despite repeatedly telling her (since I was the only guest) to have breakfast at 830 or 9, she woke me up at 7am for no good reason. Even after I was clearly still asleep and told her to give me another hour or two, by the time I went down, the food was cold and she clearly just made it whenever she wanted to. Transport there was dependent on his relative who also took a ton of other people, and transport back was very difficult to arrange. Considering tourists pay 10x or more what a local pays, for the exact same ride, it shouldn't be counted as a "private taxi"- we ended up with a ton of people on the way back to town again also. There's nothing else to do in the area, and you definitely can't hear or see the red of the volcano from the room, like they advertise.

  If you are looking for an authentic experience, do not hesitate ! Robert is very friendly and reliable. He will arrange transport, food, volcano tour and cultural experience for you. He will introduce you to his family and we have enjoyed good time at his place. It was absolutly perfect. Kids and me will remember this for very long time. Thank you robert and tomas !

  Had an amazing time with Robert and his family at the tree house and can't recommend the experience any higher! The stay is a true authentic experience of life on Tanna and Robert is a fantastic host who will ensure you get the most out of your time. Despite being very remote, everything was organised for us, including transport from the airport with a stop in town for water/snacks, transport up the volcano, all meals (lovely homecooked meals!) and other activities/experiences (be sure to try the cultural experiences offered!). Also, seeing the glow of the volcano from the treehouse window at night is surreal experience.
